Pre-inspection
We want to find out what types of fibers your upholstery is made from and test dye stability. We also want to look for potential problems before we start.
Pre-vacuum
Just like carpets, your upholstery can hide a lot of soil. Dust, dirt, skin cells, lint, and hair are among the types of dry soils that accumulate on upholstery, and just like carpet, it is best to remove as much of it as possible while it is dry.
Pre-condition
We apply a cleaning solution appropriate for the fabric we are working with. Sometimes this is done by spraying, other times it may be applied as a foam by hand using a brush or a sponge. Upholstery detergents are formulated for the home cleaning needs of upholstery such as removing body oils or safely cleaning natural fibers.
Agitate
Gentle agitation helps suspend soils and increases the effectiveness of the cleaning. Care must be taken to not damage the fabric.
Rinse
The fabric is rinsed to neutralize and remove the cleaning solution and flush out embedded soils.
Protect
Protectants interfere with the ability of soil to adhere to the surface of a fabric. They help the fabric clean more easily and resist stains.
Dry
The drying process can be sped up by using fans to help dry the fabric.
