House Cleaning Tips

We all know about basic house cleaning maintenance. Those dreaded weekly chores we all had to divvy up with our siblings such as cleaning the bathroom, dusting, sweeping, mopping. Mom even taught us that we should clean under the bed! But I bet you didn’t know about preventative maintenance chores like how important it is to clean inside the dishwasher. Who would of thought that? It’s cleaning my dishes, so it’s already clean…right? Not necessarily! And a little extra love for your dishwasher will go a long way to keep it running efficiently and last you longer. We have put together a list of 8 items you probably never think about when you think about cleaning your house!

Garbage Disposal:

Your garbage disposal handles some of the dirtiest jobs in your home and it probably is full of muck, grease and grunge! You remedy this by using a disposer care cleaner . This service will reach deep into the hidden areas of the disposer and foam away the toughest grunge and foul odors while refreshing your whole kitchen. It cleans the disposer walls, blades and even helps clean the drain.

Dishwasher:

Yes, you should clean and sanitize your dishwasher! Over time your dishwasher gets hard water and grime buildup on the walls, door and racks. This treatment will safely remove hard water and grime and leave the dishwasher fresh and clean and promote better dishwashing as well as longevity for the machine itself. It’s as easy as dropping a packet into the bottom of the appliance and starting a cycle! You will be amazed at the difference before and after

Washing Machine

Just like the dishwasher, your washing machine needs regular maintenance to avoid hard water buildup. The other common concern is mildew growing in the rubber seal around the door. To avoid this, dry off the door before closing after a wash or leave it open to air dry. Use a peroxide or household bleach to kill the mildew that has grown. You can also get little prepared packets to toss in and run a cycle that will clean the machine and leave fresh and ready for the next load of laundry.

Refrigerator and Freezer

When was the last time you took all the food out of your fridge and freezer and disenfected and sanitized the inside? If it’s been a few months (or years…) it’s time! Check the dates on all those condiments while you’re at it. Once everythig is out, its really quite easy. Use a peroxide solution and a clean microfiber rag and wipe everything down for fresh, clean and sanitized food locker.

Oven Cleaning

If you don’t have a self cleaning oven there are great products out there to make this daunting task much easier. Easy Off has a product that if you apply and leave will help you wipe the oven clean with minimal scrubbing. Spray on the grills and let sit outside while you wipe out the oven and then scrub clean outside to avoid awkwardness of cleaning them in the sink. Better yet…hire a professional cleaning service

Exterior Cleaning:

Cleaning around the outside of your home will make a big difference in the look and feel! Cleaning under eaves, knocking down cobwebs from walls and fences, washing patios and patio furniture, sweeping up leaves and cleaning out gutters are all great ways to make a big impact on curb appeal and how you feel walking in at the end of the day

Windows and Screens

Maybe one of the most impactful things you can do to improve the look of your home is window cleaning. As soon as you tackle this job you will see that it’s not just the glass that needs cleaning. The tracking and the screens will likely be in dire need as well. Dish soap and a squeegee can make easy work of this daunting chore. Mix a little dish soap and water, suds up the window and squeegee clean. Have newspaper or clean microfiber rags handy to wipe up drips. For the screens- hose them down and wash with a soft brush or wipe with microfiber rag and let dry in the sun.
